Housing Services

     Provides information to assist in identifying housing options for people with disabilities including reverse mortgages, mortgage default, and housing counseling.

     Additional housing services include:

  • SHP - Supported Housing Program
    Assists consumers in transitioning into independent living. To be eligible you must be a nursing home resident, have a need for long term care, have intention to reside in Allegheny County, have a need and be eligible for Department of Public Welfare's Attendant Care Program, and not have a developmental disability. On-going support services are provided following the move.

  • CSPPPD - Community Services Program for Persons with Physical Disabilities
    Provides specialized services for people with developmental disabilities other than mental retardation. The disability must affect at least three major functions and the person must be currently living in, or entering a nursing home.

Live at Home- Independently with Assistance.

 25 million people in America live with disabilities. And that number is growing. One thing that we each have in common is the fundamental desire or need for decent affordable and accessible housing in the community of our choice. Renting or owning a home or apartment is a challenge for those who chose to live independently but finding a home with the features that suit our individual needs is an even bigger challenge.

TRCIL Housing Services is designed to assist individuals and families – especially those with disabilities, with their housing needs. Whether you’re looking for accessible or affordable housing to rent or buy, or maybe need assistance with housing discrimination home modification, homebuyer education, or foreclosure, TRCIL can help.

In addition, TRCIL’s network of service providers deliver a wide range of referral, direct, and supportive services that help to address your independent housing concerns.
